I have a new short story out in the summer issue of the Fiddlehead. (Sharing pages with Eden Robinson = swoon
)
I wrote this one in late 2015, taking inspiration from the chain-link fence that runs north-south along l’Acadie. The fence separates two of Montreal’s most disparate neighbourhoods: Parc-Ex and Mount-Royal.
Back when I wrote this, I had no idea I would eventually move to Parc-Ex, which I did this July. Now, I cross this fence on my bike whenever I go to the west of the city. A weird, life-imitating-art coincidence, or maybe it was meant to be .
